_CONTEXT:_
IOM opened an office in Ireland in **Apply on the website**. Ireland

IOM Ireland provides Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration
Programmes (AVRR) that are open to migrants (asylum seekers and
irregular migrants) from non-EEA countries, who wish to return home
voluntarily but do not have the means, including the necessary
documentation, to do so. Programme activities additionally include the
following areas of migration management: Resettlement, Family
Reunification and Counter- Trafficking.
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief of Mission in
close coordination with the Senior Programme Assistants, the project
assistant?s work will be aim to provide support to project
development and M&E as well as review on some ongoing research
activities that the mission is carrying out with external consultants
and GMDAC.
_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:_
* Support the CoM in the project development and M&E of all AVR and
other projects in the mission in compliance with IOM?s institutional
guidelines, and those required by donors; this includes acting as
Information Management Focal Point in the office and receiving regular
figures from the IOM Dublin team, holding bimonthly meetings with the
CoM and team to assess project implementation progress and review
workplan and targets when required; it includes prepare all periodic,
interim and final project reporting deadlines, coordinating input from
relevant IOM Dublin project managers to produce required reports in
appropriate format and in a timely manner.
* Monitor the implementation of IOM Country Strategy **Apply on the
website** with the support of CoM;
* Act as main policy focal point for the mission, namely the MGI
preparation and follow up in Ireland and GCM related matters;
* Assist the CoM in the completion of institutional reports and
other global reports to submit to RO and HQ;
* Act as main focal point on all research projects. This includes
assisting in the review of current research activities carried out by
external consultants and in coordination with the Global Data
Migration Analysis Center (GMDAC)
* Perform any other duties as may be assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
_EDUCATION_
* University degree in Political or Social Sciences, Development, Law
and/or International Relations or similar with two years of relevant
professional experience; or
High School Degree in the above fields with four years of relevant
professional experience.
_EXPERIENCE_
* Experience in the fields of social sciences, human rights or
provision of assistance to vulnerable groups.
* Experience of working with, and providing assistance to, migrant
populations would be considered an advantage.
* Strong work ethic, ability to follow procedures clearly and to
work well with colleagues within a team in a multi-cultural
environment. Ability to work independently and within a team.
Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (and in particular Excel and
Power Point).
LANGUAGES
* Fluency in English is required
* Any other IOM official language is an advantage
